Bonnie Burk
Bonnie joined the Lumen team in 2005 and has spent the last six years placing attorneys and paralegals in both permanent and temporary positions across the country. Bonnie finds her role as a Senior Account Executive, focusing on client services and recruitment, to be extremely rewarding. Having the ability to match candidates to clients, helping each party to find what they are seeking and ultimately providing a positive result for everyone involved. The best piece of advice she can offer is that a candidate must be his or her own best advocate by networking in a pay-it-forward fashion. When you unconditionally offer to assist others, they will gladly return the favor and assist you.
One of Bonnie’s most recent accomplishments was an on-going staffing solution for a Fortune 500 financial services company. Lumen was engaged to augment internal legal staff with contract attorneys to handle complex legal research and opinion needs. Since early 2010, Lumen has placed more than 10 attorney consultants on remote research based projects as part of the Virtual Lumen service. The solution is a win-win; candidates have the benefit of flexibility through remote work, while the client enjoys a nationwide talent pool working in a cost-effective manner. This model continues to be the client’s “new” way of doing business.
Bonnie graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science and went on to earn her JD from Michigan State University College of Law (formerly known as Detroit College of Law). Prior to joining Lumen, Bonnie worked with the International Union, UAW, as an attorney in the Arbitration Department. Bonnie lives and works in Tallahassee, Florida, bringing valuable experience and insight to Lumen’s Southeast market.
