Lumen Legal is partnered with a healthcare management client to identify and hire a Commercial Contract Attorney. This is an open-ended contract opportunity, at our client’s modern and comfortable office in the Greater Chicago area.  The hired attorney will work 5 days per week (typical business hours of 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM) with the potential for additional hours based on the clients’ needs. 

 

The hired Commercial Contract Attorney will deliver great results by:

  • Interpreting, negotiating, and drafting complex contracts and related documents in support of our clients’ products and services – both as customer and buyer.

  • Assisting in the development and maintenance of legal resources that are required for products and services, such as terms of use, privacy policies, and other similar policies and disclosures.

  • Creating new templates and updating existing templates when needed.

  • Drafting, reviewing and relining a wide variety of contracts using existing templates, when available, and balancing risk with business needs within agreed upon timelines.

  • Collaborating with Senior in-house counsel, Compliance and Corporate Governance teams to draft documents such as amendments to bylaws, affiliation agreements, ethics guidelines and participation agreements.

  • Ensuring compliance with U.S. and international laws and regulations dealing with user privacy, intellectual property, consumer protection, publishing and advertising.

Highly-qualified applicants will possess the following education, skills, and experience:

  • 2 or more years of experience drafting, negotiating and advising Commercial Contracts.

  • 2 or more years of experience as an in-house attorney, preferably in a healthcare, consumer or content licensing business.

  • Experience in a highly regulated environment a plus.

  • 2 or more years of experience with intellectual property licensing, technology, data privacy, GDPR, commerce, antitrust, litigation, contracts insurance and/or regulatory compliance.

  • JD from an accredited law school.

  • Must be licensed to practice law in the state of Illinois. 

  • Must be willing to complete a Drug Screen and Background Check.
