Lumen Legal is partnered with a nationally known company to identify and hire a contract Paralegal. This is an approximately 6 month contract opportunity working at our client’s modern and comfortable business campus in St Louis, MO.

The hired Paralegal will deliver great results by:

  • Drafting pleadings, assembling and organizing documents, managing discovery and data requests (interrogatories) with respect to regulatory proceedings.

  • Work will involve electric and gas cases involving rates for service.

  • Cases are administrative legal proceedings, involve litigation, and will relate to filings with the Missouri Public Service Commission.

  • Regulatory, administrative law and/or civil litigation experience is needed.

  • Criminal law work is not applicable.

  • Candidates with senior legal assistant experience commensurate with the paralegal skills and experience noted above would also be considered.

Highly qualified applicants will possess the following education, skills and experience:

  • Associate's degree or Paralegal Certificate is highly preferred.

  • Strong proofreading skills with attention to detail.

  • Ability to work quickly, efficiently and independently, multitask, and stay organized and focused.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, working within the Legal department, other internal departments and outside parties.

  • Solid oral and written communication skills.

  • Exceptional time management skills including ability to manage multiple priorities and conflicting requests.

  • Affinity for adapting with various personalities and work styles, and the ability to successfully produce in that environment.

  • Highly organized and detail oriented.

  • Able to work varied hours.
